Pat Healy comes into the Octagon as one of the hottest prospects from Strikeforce and plans to make a statement at today’s UFC 159. He takes on fellow lightweight Jim Miller.
“I want to take advantage of still being young, still having a fresh body and really work to build my name in the UFC,” said Healy on MMA Junkie Radio. “I think getting established here is a big piece [of the puzzle].”
For Strikeforce Healy was 7-1, winning his last six. He was to meet their final champion Gilbert Melendez on two occasions, but injuries caused it to never happen.
Miller won Fight of the Year in December against Joe Lauzon. That was off a title eliminator loss to Nate Diaz.
Check them out at UFC 159, from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
