Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate have history in Strikeforce and it wasn’t pretty. There were people pulling for Tate in her loss to Cat Zingano, as the winner got the next shot at Rousey’s UFC women’s bantamweight title.
While Rousey-Tate is on the backburner with Zingano’s win, the champion is optimistic.
“I think because of the demand it’s going to end up happening anyway,” said Rousey to MMA Fighting. “So many people want to see that fight again. A lot of people keep telling me that was their favorite fight. And just me and Miesha personally, I think we just like fighting each other because we don’t like each other very much. It’s bound to happen just because the demand is there.”
The beef between the pair started when Rousey successfully beat Tate for the Strikeforce title. There were words as Tate didn’t like Rousey appearing nude on the cover of ESPN. And don’t forget by the years end, Rouey and the belt were promoted to the UFC ranks.
Tate is now 13-4 with the latest loss. Rousey has not seen the second round and ended each of her seven professional wins by armbar.
