Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos made quick work in her return to the sport and her upcoming Invicta FC title shot looks more promising now that her recent drug is in. Santos’ test came back with no illegal substances.
“Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos did pass her two tests,” said Kenny Rice on Inside MMA. “Twice, she was tested for steroids in her Invicta FC debut.”
After a 10-1 start, Santos was stripped of her Strikeforce featherweight championship and suspended for having steroids in her system. The suspension was for one year.
During the suspension, Strikeforce closed and Santos opted to compete somewhere that wasn’t the UFC since they only have a women’s bantamweight division.
Santos required the opening round to TKO Fiona Muxlow at Invicta FC 5.
It’s now Santos vs. Marloes Coenen at Invicta FC 6. Whoever leaves the main event the winner, also serves as the promotion’s first featherweight champion. That’s on July 13 out of the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO.
