Daniel Cormier believes he can compete at either heavyweight or light heavyweight, and is prepared to showcase that in the near future.
While hosting UFC Tonight Tuesday, the former Olympian talked about his fighting career – and, more importantly, which division he wants to battle in.
“I’m thinking about both weight divisions,” Cormier said. “I’ve been watching the rankings and I want to fight someone who actually advances my career. I’m interested in big fights.”
Cormier moved up to No. 2 in the heavyweight ratings following his recent win over Frank Mir. He won the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix by besting such notables as Josh Barnett and Antonio Silva.
As for when we might know more, Cormier added that he is “getting with my team this week to make a decision.”
