New York City is about to get some high level kickboxing as GLORY makes their debut inside the United States. The show will come from the Hammerstein Ballroom in the Manhattan Center on June 22.
“We are thrilled to kick off the expansion of GLORY’s world championship kickboxing series to the U.S. with such a high-caliber event in the sports and entertainment epicenter that is New York City,” said CEO Andrew Whitaker. “We are looking forward to establishing the GLORY brand in the U.S. with this debut event that will showcase the product for what it is — the most exciting and elite form of world-class kickboxing, or martial arts stand-up fighting.”
The card is headlined with heavyweight Daniel Ghita vs. Brice Guidon. A one night, eight person tournament will also occur on the card. Participates will be announced in the weeks to follow.
Legalizing and regulating MMA in New York is still being worked out.
GLORY returns with their next event on May 3 from the Ariake Coliseum in Japan.
