Nate Diaz appears to be a little bit stuck in what he wants to do next. The former UFC lightweight contender hinted strongly at a move back to welterweight last week, but UFC president Dana White stated that might not be the best of ideas.
Well, it appears Diaz is taking matters into his own hands and pushing for the UFC to add weight classes between lightweight, welterweight and light heavyweight.
“More weight classes ASAP??” he wrote on Twitter. “163, 178, 193. More super fights more champion vs. champion, closer to weight better fights more potential…”
It’s an interesting concept, but White has stated before the UFC had no plans to place a weight class between 205 pounds (light heavyweight) and 265 (heavyweight). Would they decide to split the lower divisions up a little?
