Former Ultimate Fighter winner Ryan Bader told FightLine Monday night that he is targeting August for a return to the Octagon.
Bader, coming off a submission win over Vladimir Matyushenko earlier this year, suffered a knee injury in training ahead of a planned meeting with Glover Teixeira.
“Hit some light squats for the first time, knee is feeling better,” Bader posted on Twitter Monday.
In a response to FightLine’s question on his potential return date, Bader stated, “August maybe.”
The former Arizona State University standout has gone 3-1 in his last four, with the lone loss coming to ex-UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida. In fact, all three of Bader’s career defeats have been at the hands of UFC champions – Tito Ortiz and Jon Jones, both via submission are the others.
