Stephanie Eggink had a XFC women’s strawweight title shot all lined up with Angela Magana. Unfortunately for Eggink, that has changed since Magana suffered an injury. To solidify her spot as the No. 1 contender, Eggink needs to beat Brianna Van Buren at XFC 23.
If Eggink needed another reason to win, it’s due to Angela’s trash talking.
“I want that title fight against Angela,” said Eggink to MMA Weekly. “There’s been a lot of badmouthing coming from Angela about me for no reason at all and I really want to fight her. I need to have this as a solid win underneath me and then be able to afford that.”
Eggink is 2-1 since turning pro. She finished Trisha Clark in round one and took a decision with Heather Clark. “Snowflake” holds an embarrassing 7 second loss to Kaline Medeiros.
After four amateur wins, Magana took a first round knockout in October.
XFC 23 is from the International Convention Center in Louisville, KY. It’s later today, April 19.
