Keith Kizer, NSAC executive director, has not received an appeal by Gabriel Gonzaga over his loss to Travis Browne at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, reports MMA Junkie.
Early in round one, Browne countered a takedown with several elbows to Gonzaga’s head that knocked him out. Some of the blows that Gonzaga took were behind the head, thus illegal. It appeared that the illegal shots came after Gonzaga fell unconscious.
Any appeal is forwarded to the state’s attorney general’s office, who then make the final decision according to Kizer.
As a result of the fight, Gonzaga’s two fight win streak since returning to the UFC ended. Browne returned after a hamstring injury that cost him his first loss.
That fight was this past Saturday, April 13, and came out of Las Vegas, NV.
