Former K-1 fighter Ruslan Karaev is being held by police after his name came up during an investigation about stolen paintings, reports Enational.
In October 2012, around 10 paintings dating back to the 1890’s were stolen from the Kunsthal Gallery in the Netherlands. Three men were arrested about the theft and one told authorities he gave four paintings to Karaev.
Karaev has been away from the sport for several years due to alleged ties with the Russian mob. One of of his biggest fights was a loss to Badr Hari at the K-1 World Grand Prix Final in 2009.
