Shamar Bailey has been in the sport long enough and tested the waters of several known MMA promotions. He’s competed out of the UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator. He now finds himself climbing back into contention as he headlines XFC 23.
“You’ve got to pay your dues,” said Bailey on MMA Junkie Radio. “I did that previously, and I’ve got no problem doing that again. At the end of the day, you do it for the love of the sport.”
While on the regional circuit, Bailey is shocked how often opponents show up overweight and those who don’t even appear for their scheduled fight.
Bailey was 1-1 for Strikeforce, 1-2 for the UFC and 0-1 for Bellator. He currently rides two wins since September. He takes on Luis Santos.
Santos is 54-9 and looks to snap his back-to-back losses out of Bellator.
XFC 23 comes from the International Convention Center in Louisville, KY on April 19.
