The last two seasons saw Bellator air on Friday across MTV2. Since January, Bellator has been running live weekly shows on Spike TV and just wrapped up Season 8, which drew five times more the number of TV viewers.
Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney looks at their new time slot as ideal. The main card starts at 10 p.m. ET and leads in from TNA Impact Wrestling on Thursday nights.
“Thursday nights were good nights for us,” said Rebney on MMA Junkie Radio. “Friday and Saturday nights each have their respective problems, but Thursday nights seem to be a really good fit.”
Bellator returns this summer with the reality show Fight Master and the Summer Series. Both shows are believed to remain in the same time frame as Season 8.
