Bellator Season 8 Recap From Spike TV President Kevin Kay

Bellator’s Season 8 closed with an average of 793,000 viewers. Spike TV president Kevin Kay enjoyed working with Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney and the fights that the promotion put together.

“Honestly, no matter what we did at Spike — and I feel like we did some good things — just the quality of fights and the fact that, week after week, there were amazing finishes,” said Kay to Sherdog. “Not just one good fight on every card, but tons of great fights on every card.”

Emanuel Newton knocking Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal out of the light heavyweight tournament and David Rickels’ entrance in a dinosaur outfit were some of greatest moments for Kay. He also looked at champions Michael Chandler, Ben Askren and Pat Curran as being the face of the company.

Bellator returns this summer with the debut of their reality show Fight Master and the Summer Series.
