UFC president Dana White confirmed Saturday evening that The Ultimate Fighter will have another new home, as the reality series will shift from FX to FOX Sports 1 beginning in September.
The 18th season of the series, which will star Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano as coaches of both male and female bantamweights, will begin on September 4 at 10 p.m. ET on the all-sports network by FOX.
“I’m very excited,” White said. “I want to thank everybody over at FX for all the support they’ve given us since we’ve come to FOX. I’m very excited to be moving to FOX Sports 1. I think the crew that works over there and the plans they have for this network, it’s going to be awesome, and we’re very excited to be part of it.”
Eric Shanks, an executive with FOX Sports, added, “Bringing The Ultimate Fighter to FOX Sports 1 is like adding a big bat to an exciting young lineup. TUF has jump-started the careers of dozens of fighters. It’s going to be a welcomed addition to FOX Sports 1 and the perfect anchor for our Wednesday prime time UFC block.”
