Ronda Rousey found out her next challenger and fellow Ultimate Fighter coach Saturday night, as Cat Zingano defeated Miesha Tate at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.
Rousey, the UFC bantamweight champion, will compete with Zingano on the next season of TUF. The reality series returns in September on FOX Sports 1, with male and female bantamweights.
“I think it’s amazing and is going to be a great opportunity for people to see women fighting on the show,” Rousey said, “and men being coached by women. It’s just the beginning; this will be a season like no one has seen before.”
Rousey has appeared on two previous seasons as a guest, including the most recent. As for her opponent, the ex-Olympian said, “it was about what I expected. Cat showed she was able to perform under pressure.”
