When footage emerged that the first round of Andrei Arlovski vs. Anthony Johnson lasted seven or eight seconds longer then scheduled, Nick Lembo requested NBC send original footage of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 2 show. MMA Fighting spoke with Lembo, counsel for the NJACB, who doesn’t know what is taking so long.
In those alleged few seconds, Arlovski took several shots which is believed to be when he suffered a broken jaw. Johnson took a unanimous decision as the main event.
Arlovski’s four fight win streak was snapped as Johnson made his heavyweight debut.
The promotion had issues the day before at weigh-ins about paperwork and the cage was cleared just hours before the first fight.
WSOF 2 was March 23 from Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
