Paulo Filho’s one performance for the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) wasn’t enough to earn him a return on the next show. WSOF president Ray Sefo said that backstage issues and his weak performance were to blame.
“We went through a lot of issues,” said Sefo to MMA Junkie. “At first, everything went smoothly. Then, toward the end, it was kind of rough. Right now, he’s definitely not on the next show.”
Prior to his WSOF debut, the PRIDE and WEC star had retired in December 2011 after a first round stoppage over Murilo Rua.
Dave Branch almost finished Filho, but took the decision win. The former UFC star is now 12-3.
WSOF 2 was March 23 from Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
