Aside from Alan Belcher’s proposed tattoo bet to Michael Bisping, he has another big reason to be looking for the win. Belcher wants to secure a similar paycheck to the Brit.
“He’s one of the top-paid fighters,” said Belcher on MMA Junkie Radio. “He has the UFC behind him – the big contract. I don’t know about the big fan base, but he’s been promoted to his country and he always gets opportunities to be the main event and make those big paydays. I want the chance.”
Both fighters will look to get back in the middleweight picture as they come in off losses.
Belcher returned in 2011 after some nagging injuries slowed him down. He’s 2-1 with two first round stoppages.
Bisping missed out at a possible title shot with a second round defeat to Vitor Belfort. He lost a title eliminator in January of last year.
UFC 159 will feature Belcher vs. Bisping. That’s April 27 from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
