Urijah Faber Tried To Avoid Fighting Friend Scott Jorgensen

Sometimes fighters don’t want to fight their friends. Then The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale headliner was scratched when flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson went down with an injury. To replace the fight, Urijah Faber meets friend and former training partner Scott Jorgensen.

“We kind of talked about not really wanting to fight much unless it was for a belt, but this was a big fight,” said Faber to Bleacher Report. “This is something they’ve tried to put together before that we’ve been able to deflect it. At this point it just kind of had to happen.”

Faber is 3-2 for the UFC with the losses coming in championship fights to Dominick Cruz and Renan Barao.

Jorgensen enters the Octagon with an identical UFC record and defeats to the same fighters as Faber.

The two main event TUF 17 Finale, which is April 13 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.
