Dana White: Swedish MMA Federation Did A “Horrible Job”

When a commission fails to live up to the standards of UFC president Dana White, he doesn’t so silent on the issues. Instead, White calls them out for their actions – like he did Saturday following UFC on FUEL TV: Mousasi vs. Latifi.

Issues started last week when the Swedish MMA Federation failed to clear Alexander Gustafsson for the main event fight with Gegard Mousasi due to a cut. Later in the week, days before the card was set to take place, the cut appeared to have healed completely.

Regardless, the UFC was forced to replace Gustafsson – one of the top light heavyweights in the world – with Ilir Latifi due to the short notice nature of the decision.

“The commission did a horrible job with this fight,” White said, during the post-fight show on FUEL TV. “I don’t want to smash the commission, but they’re very inexperienced. This isn’t Las Vegas or New Jersey or California where lots of fights happen.”

White, though, did offer some confidence to the SMMAF, saying, “They did a great job the first time we came here, so hopefully they’ll get back on the wagon.”
