For Ross Pearson, his co-main event match up with Ryan Couture at UFC on FUEL TV: Mousasi vs. Latifi Saturday was all about remaining patient.
Just like his father, Randy Couture, Ryan poised an interesting threat, as he fights different from most others. The former Ultimate Fighter winner had to figure everything out before attacking.
“The first round was about figuring him out,” said Pearson, during the post-fight show. “He’s unorthodox and it took me a while to figure him out.”
Once Pearson did, it was all over in a flash, as the Brit caught Couture with a nasty left that planted him on the ground. A few more strikes and he had earned his second straight win since returning to lightweight.
“They say, ‘pressure and patience,'” Pearson added. “I found my range and distance, and I made it work.”
