Ryan Couture has his biggest challenge to date as he enters the Octagon for the first time. The lightweight will be taking on England’s Ross Pearson.
“I’m ready for his style and I think I can mix my strokes, frustrate him and hit him,” said Couture to TATAME. “Even if I cannot finish it, I can wear it and break its determination within 15 minutes of duel.”
It wouldn’t be the first time that Couture lets the judges dictate his future. Three of his six wins have come by decision. The last two were split-decision wins over Joe Duarte and K.J. Noons. Couture has fought only out of Strikeforce.
Pearson comes in after knocking George Sotiropoulos out. The duo coached on Australia’s version of The Ultimate Fighter.
Couture vs. Pearson is the co-main event of UFC on FUEL TV 9 on April 6. It comes from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Sweden.
