Invicta FC’s first attempt to stream a paid show was a major disaster. At the January show, the promotion partnered up with Ustream. The result was payments not being accepted and the stream frequently dropping due to such high demand.
Shannon Knapp, Invicta FC president, ended pulling the charge option mid-show while watching the fiasco go down. She will give Ustream another chance this week.
“If I look at it from a business perspective, sure, they screwed up,” said Knapp on Inside MMA. “But I’m taking just as big a risk if I go with someone else. I’d have to go in to them and say, we have a high volume of traffic, can you handle it? Of course they’ll say they can.”
The promotion returns with the atomweight and flyweight title being decided. Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos also debuts.
Invicta FC 5 will be $9.95 and is this Friday, April 5. It comes from Memorial Hall in Kansas City, MO.
