Phil Baroni isn’t a happy person since he lost a unanimous decision to Hayato Sakurai at DREAM’s New Year’s Eve show. The loss ended Baroni’s attempt to gain any kind of winning streak since 2008.
“I lost to an out of shape, small, and not at his best, Sakurai by a f—ing bullshit decision — a decision that still haunts me to this day, for more reasons than the outcome,” wrote Baroni on his blog. “It ruined the momentum that had me feeling good about myself after my best win.”
The win Baroni is referencing was an early round one TKO over Rodrigo Ribeiro in his ONE FC debut during the summer. Since 2009, Baroni is just 2-6. For the first six years of Baroni’s career, he spent time in the UFC, PRIDE and Strikeforce.
Baroni at the moment has no opponent named since that December loss.
