Anderson Silva, Alexander Gustafsson, Uriah Hall: The Morning News Roundup – 4.3.13

The previously muddy waters surrounding Saturday’s UFC on Fuel TV 9 have cleared a bit, and now we have a main event again. Ilir Latifi will be replacing teammate Alexander Gustafsson, who suffered a nasty cut in training and was ruled unable to compete by someone of authority in Sweden (IKEA? The Swedish Chef?). Latifi is a UFC rookie, and he’ll be taking on another UFC rookie in Gegard Mousasi. He’s also going to die (oddsmakers have Mousasi, a former Strikeforce champ, as the 11:1 favorite). Anyway, here’s your news:

Latifi, come on down! You are the next contestant on the Price is Death! Hey, here’s a pic of Gustafsson’s cut. Gross. Mousasi, meanwhile, says the opponent change ain’t nothing but a thang.

• UFC superstar middleweight Anderson Silva visited a sick kid in a hospital in Brazil. Tears were shed.

• In case you missed it, TUF 17 destroyer of souls Uriah Hall fought Bubba McDaniel in last night’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter. Although the word “fight” doesn’t really accurately describe it.

Bellator and Eddie Alvarez, still battling.
