Everyone knows that Chael Sonnen loves to talk and according to the UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, it’s the only attribute that “The American Gangster” possesses.
“The beautiful thing about Chael is that he uses his words,” said Jones. “That’s about all he has. He’s just a gang of quotes that no one is going to remember. He’s just weak in every way, shape or form.”
The two can be seen coaching on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter. The reality show is taped as they have been preparing for this title fight.
Sonnen enters as light heavyweight after a decade as middleweight. He’ll enter off a loss to middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Jones is unmatched in the UFC and will be looking for his fifth title defense since he started cleaning the division when he took the gold in March 2011.
“He’s not a champion,” said Jones. “He’s not made out of championship stuff. He just wants that spotlight. He wants that opportunity. I will defeat Chael Sonnen in an extremely devastating fashion.”
The champion will be determined at UFC 159 from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. That goes down on April 27.
