Mike Pierce is just returning from a vacation after taking on five fights in the span of 13 months. The welterweight is ready to jump right back into the swing of things and has two names in mind. Pierce looks to make a splash by taking on Jake Ellenberger or Robbie Lawler.
“I just think they’re two guys that are really relevant that would make great matchups and I’d love to get in there and beat them down,” said Pierce on MMA Junkie Radio.
If 2013 is a repeat of 2012, Pierce should be happy. Pierce dropped a split-decision to Josh Koscheck at the start of last year. He has since taken three wins with one stoppage.
Condit has back-to-back losses to champion Georges St-Pierre and No. 1 contender Johny Hendricks. Ellenberger competed on the same card as Condit, where he defeated former Strikeforce champion Nate Marquardt.
Pierce is still waiting on word for his next fight.
