Felice Herrig has apologized for the post-fight cage incident with Heather Clark at this past week’s Bellator 94. When the fight ended, Herrig yelled in Clark’s face, which resulted in a punch thrown by Clark. Herring threw one back before the referee stepped in.
The strawweight Herring sent the following tweet explaining how the tension between the two had been boiling.
“First off I want to apologize to any of my fans that thought what I did was unsportsmanlike. Looking back on it now I probably shouldn’t have reacted that way but my emotions got the better of me. I never attack anyone who hasn’t attacked me first. I wish Heather a speedy recovery and I’m not upset that she took a swing at me after the bell.”
Herrig is now 9-4 and undefeated out of Bellator with three fights. She also competes frequently for Xtreme Fighting Championship.
Clark drops to 5-4 with that recent loss being her Bellator debut.
Bellator 94 came from the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, FL on March 28.
