UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is another person who thinks that transgender fighter Fallon Fox should not be allowed to take on other women. He felt the bone structure gave Fox the advantage.
Velasquez was torn on what should be done, offering up a unique thought.
“Maybe have a separate [division], I guess,” said Velasquez at a recent media luncheon via MMA Fighting. “I don’t know, but I don’t think that’s fair.”
Fox is supposed to take on Allana Jones in the semifinals of CFA’s featherweight tournament to crown an inaugural champion. Jones has said she doesn’t want the fight.
At UFC 155 in December, Velasquez took back his title from Junior dos Santos. He defends his belt against Antonio “Big Foot” Silva at UFC 160. That’s on May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. In the first encounter, Velasquez won with a first round TKO.
