Carlos Condit feels the next year could see him in some rematches as the welterweight division continues to change. One of those names would likely be Rory MacDonald.
“He really took the loss personal, so he’s made the callout personal,” said Condit on MMA Junkie Radio. “But I think he’d be a great fight.”
That loss is the only blemish on MacDonald’s 15 fight record. At UFC 115, MacDonald had the fight won before a late rush by Condit who secured the TKO win with seven seconds left in the fight. If it went to the judges, MacDonald would have won.
They were supposed to be the co-main event of UFC 158 before MacDonald removed himself about a month out due to a neck and back injury. MacDonald had called Condit out for the rematch.
There’s no timetable for MacDonald’s return, but he expressed at UFC 158 that he wanted the rematch to still take place.
