Tom Watson earned his first UFC win last month, after a lengthy career. At UFC on FUEL TV from England, Watson earned Knockout of the Night and Fight of the Night for finishing Stanislav Nedkov in round two.
Riding such momentum has left Watson looking for a competitor, but he’s being cautious of a middleweight division that he feels is riddled with PED users.
“I think most of my division is on stuff,” said Watson to MMA Interviews. “I’ve got a few injuries to heal up, but I haven’t got the testosterone to speed up my recovery.”
Watson had impressive runs out of Cage Rage and BAMMA. He held the BAMMA middleweight championship for over two years, before signing with the UFC and leaving it behind. The Brit took a split-decision loss to Brad Tavares in his UFC debut.
There is no opponent currently selected to face Watson next. He wants to take on Wanderlei Silva, but doesn’t think that one will come to fruition.
