Stephen Keogh, the UFC’s Canadian PR director, talked with the manager for UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and confirmed that “Rush” is already back to working out.
“Quick (GSP) update: GSP has done some sprint training while on holiday,” Keogh posted on Twitter Tuesday. “Despite injury report, everything is A-OK, says manager.”
Following St-Pierre’s win over Nick Diaz earlier this month, reports of an Achilles injury leading into the bout were made known. He also battled a low-grade fever the night of the fight.
St-Pierre (24-2) is expected to face Johny Hendricks (15-1) later this year in an attempt to surpass Matt Hughes’ record for most wins in the welterweight division with 19.
