Rafael dos Anjos looks to make history by becoming the first Brazilian lightweight champion and with a few more wins could do just that.
“Always every fight I want to show up,” said Anjos on the Aaron Tru channel. “I want to put on a good show for all people and my goal is to get that belt because never has any Brazilian got that belt in the lightweight division. I want to be the first one.”
Starting his UFC career at 0-2, Anjos is making moves again with a 7-4 record. Last year was good to him with three wins, starting with a round one submission to Kamal Shalorus. He meets Evan Dunham in less than a month.
Dunham was 2-1 last year, losing to TJ Grant in Fight of the Night. He’s 7-3 for the promotion.
Anjos vs. Dunham happens at UFC on FX 8 in the return to Brazil. It is on May 18 out of the Arena Jaraguá.
