As far as Martin Kampmann sees it, both he and Nick Diaz are coming off losses. So, pairing them together would make perfect sense.
Kampmann was defeated by Johny Hendricks last year, halting his run at a potential UFC welterweight title shot. He is planning on returning to action this summer, and views the former contender as a perfect opponent.
“I’d be happy to fight him,” said Kampmann, during a recent interview with BJPenn.com. “He still got a ton of hype behind him. He’s ranked in the Top-10, so that would be a good win for me. Yeah, I’d love to beat his (expletive).”
Kampmann (20-6) had his three-fight win streak snapped by a knockout loss to Hendricks. He is 3-3 overall in his last six.
