Andrei Arlovski once reigned atop the heavyweights as he held the UFC’s gold. Since then, he’s seen his career take a dive and recently move upward.
After tonight’s fight with Anthony Johnson at World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 2, Arlovski looks to move one step closer towards being the best heavyweight once again.
“I want to be a champion and I want to be number one in the world again because I know the taste of glory and the taste of being on top of the world,” said Arlovski to MMA Weekly. “Also, I know that feeling when you’re down. I want to be a champion and I want to be on top of the world.”
Arlovski had lost four in a row before he bounced back by going 4-0-1. He currently trains with Greg Jackson, after teasing the idea of retirement.
WSOF 2 is later today, March 23, from Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The main card airs on the NBC Sports Network at 9:30 p.m. ET. Arlovski headlines the card opposite Johnson.
