Marcin Held Sees Good And Bad In Bellator Tournament Delay

Due to circumstances outside of his control, Marcin Held had to withdraw from the original date for the finals of the Season 7 lightweight tournament. Held was supposed to meet Dave Jansen back in late 2012, but the fight was moved to another date as he was only 20-years-old and couldn’t enter the casino to compete.

With the extra three months to prepare, instead of the usual 30 days in Bellator tournament fights, Held sees the good and bad to come from the prior events.

“On one [hand the delays] were bad for me,” said Held to Sherdog. “It was annoying to wait for such a long time, but I had more time to improve my technique. So it was both good and bad.”

Both fighters made it to the finals with a decision and submission.

They headline today’s Bellator 93 from the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, ME. The main card starts at 10 p.m. on Spike TV. FightLine will be there with the play-by-play.
