Dave Jansen Vows To Win Tonight’s Bellator Tournament Via TKO

Like most of Dave Jansen’s Bellator fights, he plans to not let the judges decide the outcome. He wants the knockout against Marcin Held at Bellator 93, something he hasn’t done since 2008.

“I see myself knocking him out or getting a TKO for sure,” said Jansen to MMA Mania. “If he gets really desperate in getting it to the ground and takes a bad shot to get there, I can grab his neck and choke him one way or another. I will be looking to knock him out for sure, though.”

They meet in the main event to crown the winner of the Season 7 lightweight tournament. It was supposed to conclude last season, but Held was too young to compete in the venue, a casino. That’s changed as he’s now 21-years-old.

Jansen submitted three of his Bellator wins since joining the promotion in 2011.

This is Held’s second appearance in a tournament. He lost in Season 4 to the eventual winner Michael Chandler in the opening round. He took a decision and submission to land his current spot.

Bellator 93 is later today, March 21, from the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, ME. The preliminary card streams on Sherdog with the main card airing on Spike TV at 10 p.m. ET.
