Alex Caceres’ post-fight drug test after UFC on FUEL TV: Silva vs. Stann earlier this month came back positive for marijuana metabolites in his system. As a result, his win over Kyung Ho Kang was changed to a no-contest and he received a six-month suspension.
Caceres accepted the punishment, and informed his fans and the UFC that it would never happen again in an official statement released.
“I accept full responsibility for my actions and the consequences from those actions. I apologize to all that I have disappointed, including the UFC, my family, coaches, training partners and fans,” Caceres stated. “I accept the sanctions from the UFC, and I look forward to completing the necessary steps to getting back in the Octagon following the suspension and assuring that this never happens again.”
Caceres is 8-5 in his career and 2-3 with the UFC.
