As Paul Daley continues to work on obtaining a new visa so he can return to the USA and compete for Bellator, he has been granted permission to fight elsewhere. In late 2012, Daley was arrested for an alleged bar fight creating the visa problems.
He takes on Rodrigo Ribeiro for Dubai Fighting Championship (DFC). Ribeiro lost a pair of fights for ONE FC last year. The most recent was by TKO to UFC veteran Phil Baroni.
“Would like to thank Bellator for allowing me to fight again away from the promotion,” said Daley. “They’ve shown great understanding, and have worked with me to make this fight happen”
Last month, Bellator allowed Daley to fight for Cage Contenders in Ireland. He took a highlight reel flying knee knockout over Patrick Vallee.
DFC 4 is set for May 10 from the Madinat Arena out of the United Arab Emirates.
