Johny Hendricks Avoids Serious Hand Injury, Targets Summer For GSP Fight

Johny Hendricks avoided any serious damage to his lethal left hand during his win over Carlos Condit recently, and plans on returning to the Octagon to challenge for the UFC welterweight title later this year.

“Update on my hand: it was feeling so much better today I decided not go go to the doc,” Hendricks posted on Twitter. “Recovery going good!”

During the post-fight interview, Hendricks mentioned that he believed he may have broken his hand during the first round vs. Condit. He went on to claim a decision victory and secure his No. 1 contender status in the division behind Georges St-Pierre.

On UFC Tonight Tuesday, it was reported that Hendricks is looking to fight GSP in August.
