Joe Rogan, World Series Of Fighting, Cris Cyborg: The Morning News Roundup – 3.20.13

Boy (pun intended), this Fallon Fox story is the gift that keeps on giving. Two weeks ago people were freaking out that a transsexual (“he” to “she”) was climbing into the cage and knocking out women. Now the uproar surrounds Joe Rogan’s opinion on the matter. Why? Why care so much about Rogan’s comments? It’s not like his words are stopping Fox from getting fights, right? It’s not like the beloved color commentator and marijuana-use spokesperson will be what prevents Fox from fighting in the UFC, right? If anything, Rogan talking about her gives her more press, and at the end of the day, press helps fighters pay the bills. Anyway, here’s your news:

• Rogan’s rant, as per CagePotato. And here’s some lengthy back and forth on the matter thanks to Zach Arnold of FightOpinion. Lastly, here’s what the crew here at Rebellion Media thought on Ms. Fox and her Excellent Cage Adventures.

• Speaking of transgendered fighters, Cris Cyborg was out an Invicta FC opponent for about a minute, but now she’s got one.

• Speaking of fighters with elevated testosterone, here’s Lavar Johnson, who’s always been a man, and will likely stick with that gender for at least the near future.

• Hey, World Series of Fighting, how you doing? You’re on Univision Deportes? Cool. Oh, and nice media conference call.
