Cat Zingano has a lot riding in her next fight. With a win over Miesha Tate, she gets the next UFC women’s bantamweight title shot and lands a spot as coach of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) opposite Ronda Rousey.
“The task at hand is to beat Miesha,” said Zingano on MMA Junkie Radio. “The motivation I get from knowing is something that lies behind winning this fight. It’s definitely made me pick things up. I want that. I really do. So I’ve been hitting these days hard.”
When they lockup as the second WMMA bout in the UFC’s history, Zingano comes in undefeated with seven wins. All but one of her foes she’s stopped.
Tate lost the Strikeforce title, which was later promoted to the UFC, to Rousey last year. At 13-3, she has continued to hold a grudge about losing the strap.
They meet on TUF 17 Finale from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV. That takes place April 13.
