Igor Gracie had Brian Stann knocking Wanderlei Silva out at the recent UFC on FUEL TV event, despite being a fan of the former PRIDE middleweight champion.
“Man that was one of the best fights I have seen of all time,” said Gracie to MMA Frenzy. “I’m a huge Wanderlei Silva fan, but I thought Brian Stann had his number. Stann wasn’t smart in the fight and got pulled into Silva’s fight. He played his game, where you’re just swinging.”
When a fight is decided off pure power punches, it becomes a lottery according to Gracie. He praised Silva for being able to recover quickly and leave with the win.
“It was fun to watch, it was a crazy fight,” said Gracie.
Gracie was able to watch the fight in-between his training. He’s set to fight Richard Patishnock on the upcoming World Series of Fighting (WSOF) card. It will be his first bout for them after signing a three-fight deal.
After four wins, Patishnock suffered his first loss for Xtreme Caged Combat almost a year ago. Gracie is 5-2, breaking even last year in his two fights.
They are set for the preliminary card of WSOF 2 on March 23. It comes from Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ with that part of the show being streamed by Sherdog.
