Igor Gracie, Bellator, Cesar Gracie: The Morning News Roundup – 3.19.13

There may be no UFC this weekend gracing our TV screens, but there’s still some MMA action worth watching on Saturday night. That’s right, it’s time for the second installment of the World Series of Fighting, which will air on the NBC Sports Network, and will likely feature a former UFC heavyweight champ getting knocked out in the main event. But don’t tune in for that. Tune in for the wealth of non-UFC/non-Bellator talent on the card, like Tyson Nam and Marlon Moraes in the co-main event, or Aaron Simpson and Igor Gracie on the undercard. It should a decent evening full of violence and, er, well, violence. Here are your headlines for today:

• Ladies and gentlemen, Igor Gracie.

• Speaking of Gracies, here’s Cesar (who, if I’m reading their family tree correctly, is Igor’s cousin) rapping about his longtime ward Nick Diaz. According to Cesar, Diaz is somewhat of a handful. Well, duh. Also, maybe Diaz has been paying taxes.

• So what do you think of Bellator’s Season Eight thus far? Here’s what Miguel Barragan of thinks.

Rebellion Media – the company that owns FightLine and a ton of other sites – has added another pro wrestling site to its roster (if that’s your sort of thing). It’s called KayfabeNews.
