Miesha Tate is set to make her UFC debut next month, as she will face Cat Zingano for a future UFC bantamweight title fight and a spot on The Ultimate Fighter. Both of those will come against Ronda Rousey.
However, Tate was asked about another fighter recently by ESPN, as “Cupcake” discussed Fallon Fox, a transgender fighter.
“I wouldn’t (face her),” Tate said. “If there was solid research that (showed) she’s 100-percent like a female, then I might consider it. I have nothing against transgender people. You should live your life however you want. It’s about fighter safety.”
Tate went on to question how much of Fox’s body is still more like a male body, adding, “it’s not fine if you may have a physical advantage and may be able to really hurt someone.”
Tate will meet Zingano at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, while Fox is currently licensed to fight in a regional promotion in Florida.
