Glover Teixeira thinks Lyoto Machida should have been given a unanimous decision over Dan Henderson at last month’s UFC 157. Machida left with a split-decision win in the co-main event for that exchange.
“You never know what’s going on in a fight, but Lyoto could have done more,” said Teixeira on MMA Interviews. “He’s so good and moves so fast that I was expecting a knockout. He did good. He’s fighting the top of the top.”
By virtue of winning, Machida is now the No. 1 contender in the light heavyweight division. It was Henderson’s first UFC loss since returning to the promotion.
Teixeira entered the UFC with 15 straight wins. He’s continued to find success with three more wins since last May. In January, he defeated former champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson with a decision.
He returns at UFC 160 and will meet James Te Huna. That’s on May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
