UFC president Dana White has plans to bring his promotion back to Boston for the first time since 2010, but he isn’t about to confirm anything yet.
The UFC last held an event in Boston with UFC 118, as Frankie Edgar defeated BJ Penn and Randy Couture turned back boxing champion James Toney. The card was the first to be held in Massachusetts by the UFC and generated a gate of $2.8 million.
“We’ll be going back to Boston this year,” White said. “I said it recently, but it’ll be sooner than people think. I just can’t announce it yet.”
The UFC has shows scheduled for several area of the world, as they will head to Sweden next month, Brazil, New Jersey, Canada and of course, Las Vegas.
