Since Darren Elkins became a featherweight, his past four UFC fights have all ended with him taking the decision victory. Even though he’s riding all those wins, Elkins wants a finish to solidify a top spot in the division.
“I think a finish is what I need,” said Elkins to MMA Junkie. “I think each time you get a finish, people notice a little more than just a regular win. A finish is kind of what I need.”
Before the drop in weight, Elkins went 1-1 under the UFC name as lightweight.
He looks to continue his winning ways and get his first stoppage since 2009 when he fights Antonio Carvalho this weekend. Carvalho took two wins last year after a decision loss to start 2012.
They are set for the preliminary card of UFC 158, which airs on FX. The show is Saturday, March 16, and comes from the Bell Centre in Canada.
