Carlos Condit has been inside the Octagon with Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz. Being no stranger to either fighter, Condit gave his prediction on who leaves as the welterweight champion at UFC 158.
“I think that Georges has the tools and athleticism to beat Nick,” said Condit on MMA Interviews. “I’m not counting Nick out though. He’s a tough fighter who can put guys in bad positions. I would put my money on GSP retaining the title.”
A year ago, Condit defeated Diaz in a close one to be called the interim champion since St-Pierre was out with an ACL injury. The win resulted in Condit getting the first crack at St-Pierre upon his return. In November, St-Pierre unified the belts with a decision win over Condit.
Condit returns at UFC 158 as well, when he takes on Johny Hendricks in the co-main event. St-Pierre-Diaz is the main event as the promotion returns to the Bell Centre. That all goes down this Saturday, March 16, out of Canada.
