Ryan Bader was forced out of a planned meeting with Glover Teixeira with a knee injury, his manager told Bleacher Report. Bader has been replaced by James Te Huna.
David Martin, of Martin Advisory Group, stated that Bader has suffered an injury to his MCL and will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks. He will likely avoid surgery, but must stay off the knee for several weeks to avoid further damage.
Bader (15-3) got back on track with a submission victory over Vladimir Matyushenko earlier this year. He is 3-1 in his last four, with the lone loss coming to Lyoto Machida.
Teixeira and Te Huna will meet at UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Silva II on May 25.
